This lady is a superstar in the real estate space. Trust me she is. She joined as an intern but trust me she is a businesswoman with a bright future. But, the agency was not quite equipped to deal with the success that has emanated from this lady and her team’s efforts. And the splits are wrong. Just wrong.
Terrible splits when a team or a small business is not set up for success
Gosh, to be a on 70/30 split when you have just under R14m in GCI for the first few weeks of this year. 8 weeks in fact and you never get the benefit of CAPPING. Sjoe. Can you just imagine how many 30%’s flow to the franchise owner? Think of how many times you will not be earning 92% of your commission.

This superstar has a team. And the team earns a 70/30 and our superstar keeps 20% because trust me she does a great deal of work and her standards are high. So the poor little estate agent gets a measly little 50% split. No ways.

This superstar is totally driven by how she can help her team earn more and take more money home. Now that’s a good soul. And a personal brand I certainly want to help to totally thrive in the real estate market. Totally in-culture with Keller Williams already and she has not even joined yet. Our mission is simply to build a business worth owning, a careers worth having, a life worth living, experiences worth giving, and legacies worth leaving.Â

Maybe I should buy a franchise?
Well yes, but in order to be effective you need to start with critical mass. You need to build systems and buy in tools like CRM and all sorts of other critical capabilities. Why not start a team? Starting a team mitigates your risks and your costs at the start. And building a mega-team is not a big financial risk with Keller Williams, because we have all the tools and the bells and whistles you need. Starting a team would be a great idea to get started on your critical mass with no massive critical mass costs. Teams make more money and that’s a fact. And teams are organized.
